Regatta Gear

Events for 2008

There are several options we are considering for the 2008 regatta.  The year West Marine will be our main sponsor.   We are still working on what they will provide, we have some great ideas and both Linda at the Kent Island West Marine store and I are excited about this new relationship.

We always have some sort of door prizes provided by Ocean Navigator Magazine.  And of course we will have the PHRF RWYB Challenge Trophy.

Got an new idea? Let me know.

Regatta Gear

 T-shirts, both long and short sleeve with Captain, 1st Mate, and Crew designators.  The long sleeve shirts have RWYB embroidered on a mock turtle neck.  The shirts must be ordered in advance so your boat name can be listed on the back. as a participant.  With each year of participation, a star is placed by your boat name.  The price for 2008 is $17 for short sleeve, $25 for long sleeve. Shirt orders must be placed by 22 August 2008. I have maintained the same cost of the shirts for several years.

Stuff about the Web Site

The web site was put together with quotes and pictures from participants at the Regatta.  Although this started out as a fluke, it has grown out of control into an annual event that people look forward to each year.  Why? Because it’s fun!  Twelve boats participated in the second year of the regatta, since then the level of participation has been;

  • 2003 - 36 boats

  • 2004 - 50 boats

  • 2005 - 58 boats and 235 people.

  • 2006 - 31 boat

  • 2007 - 36 boats

  • 2008 - shooting for 50 to 75!!

Both sail and power boats participating in the regatta.
